Marjorie Ileen Newell – age 87 of Yarmouth passed away peacefully on May 8,2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pembroke, November 16,1935 she was a daughter to the late Ernest and Bernice (MacKinnon) Thompson. Marjorie was a very loving mother and grandmother; family always came first and all she strived for was to be the best mother to her children and treat them with kindness and respect. In her younger years she liked knitting, camping and always enjoyed playing cards especially cribbage, even in her later years she was hard to beat. Bingo was one of her favorite pastimes. She is survived by her daughter, Holly (Randy Deveau) Newell, Carleton; Michael (Dale) Newell, Raynardton; brother, Harold (Anne) Thompson; sister, Jessie Pitman; grandchildren, Jamie, Jody and Winton. Aside from her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband, William; sister, Jeanette; brothers, Ernest Jr., Stanley and Randall. A visitation will be Thursday, May 11,2023 from 1-2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Rev Raymond Pitcher officiating. Interment will take place in the Cheggogin Cemetery.
