Obituary for Marjorie M. Lawrence

Lawrence, Marjorie Marion – age 85. Mom passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, April 23, 2023. Born on December 02, 1937, in Greenville, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Harding and Jeanette Johnson.

Mom had a long career in retail working at Sears in Halifax and Zellers in Yarmouth. She was a proud member of the Korean Veterans Association Women’s Auxiliary, providing support whenever she could to the association as well as the sea cadets. She enjoyed travelling throughout Atlantic Canada to attend reunions each year.

Mom’s compassion was great and her faith strong. She was a kind and caring soul whose family and close circle of friends meant everything to her. She was at her happiest when her family came to visit, and she was able to go visit them in Ottawa and Edmonton.

Mom had a special relationship with all of us and was a loving, funny mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, and great aunt. Through her we know what strong and caring look like.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Delacey Lawrence, her partner, Clifford Black, sons, Chester Lawrence, Bradley Lawrence and granddaughter, Crystal Falls.

Mom is survived by sons Michael (Gillis) Lawrence, Ottawa; Scott (Helena) Lawrence, Greenville, sister: Barbara (Hallet) Turner, Greenville, grandchildren, Courtney, Brad, Brianne and great-grandchildren Searria, Tamrah, Calvin, Kai, Iyla, Eve, and Blaine

Today we are filled with great memories of Marge, Mom, Nan, Nannie Marge, and Aunt Marge.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth Argyle Homecare and her physician’s office for the care provided to her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at Sweeny’s Funeral home on Friday , April 28 at 2pm. Visitation will take place Friday, April 28 at 1pm.
