Obituary for Margaret "Joanne" Nickerson
Margaret “Joanne” Nickerson, age 79, passed away on May 24, 2023, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth, she was the oldest daughter of the late Percy W. and Kathleen A. (Cann) Peters
She was a homemaker, as well she worked at Harris Seafood Restaurant for 35 years. She loved to go camping, cook, play cards & bingo, she was also an animal lover.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 38 years, George Archie Nickerson.
Survived by her only precious son Don, daughter-in-law Annita, grandson Jesse (Alicia). She is also survived by her 7 sisters, Betty Jean Meuse (Eric) of Dartmouth, Muffy (Dale) of Wolfville, Patty Le Fave (Ronnie) of Belleville, Janet d’Entremont (Frank) of Lower West Pubnico, Andrea Crosby (Ross) of Wellington, Kathleen Melenchuk of Avonport, Laurie Fox (Rob) of Yarmouth; brothers, Emery F. Peters (Linda) of Halifax; siblings, Percy Peters (Gwen), Karen Newell (Preston), Jeffery Peters (Sherry), Lyndon Peters (Karen), Heather Peters.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A graveside service will take place June 10,2023 at 11 a.m. from the Hillside Cemetery. Pastor Keith Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net
