Marcelline Mary Blanchard (Nee Babin) age 99 formerly from Belleville, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2022, at Nakile Home for Special Care. Marcelline was a member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church and of the New Horizons Seniors Club. She enjoyed baking, making the best homemade bread weekly, Frenchy shopping, bingo, playing cards, and sewing. She especially enjoyed taking the shuttle every couple of months to visit Brenda for many years, right up to the time she went to Nakile. She will be missed and lovingly remembered for the great advice and support she gave her children and grandchildren. She is survived by daughters, Noreen (Bob) MacLaughlin; Joan (Larry) Forbes; Rena (Flint) Churchill and Brenda (Graham) Kehoe and son, Paul (Mary) Blanchard, 8 grandchildren, Lisa; Sean; Aaron; Holly; Jill; Michelle; Raeleen and David; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Bernie; brothers, James and Donald; sister, Jenny. Visitation will take place Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 1-2 pm followed by a funeral service at 2 pm. both from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Larry Pennell officiating. Interment will be in Sainte-Anne Parish Cemetery, Sainte Anne du Ruisseau. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Nakile and especially Donna Dulong for the exceptional care.
