Obituary for Leonard Bernard Crosby

Leonard Bernard  Crosby
CROSBY Leonard Bernard – age 71 of Yarmouth Nova Scotia passed away peacefully on December 27, 2017. Born in Yarmouth on November 13, 1946 he was a son to the late Arnold and Ada Crosby. Leonard was well known in the community and could frequently be found “down town” with a Tim Horton’s coffee in his hand or having a yarn with on one of his many friends. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 Yarmouth where he was one of the top salesmen for the annual poppy campaign. Leonard was a man with a heart of gold who would do anything for anybody and was a well known sight in all the local parades. Not one to shy away from hard work Leonard loved to shovel snow and mow lawns depending on the season. He is survived by his siblings, Lorraine Higby; Betty Muise; Arnold “Sunny” Crosby; St Clair (Becky) Crosby; Walter (Dianne) Crosby; Charles "Tick" (Irene) Crosby; Jean “Dolly” (Paul) Wentzell; Geraldine "Sis" (Russell); Lorraine (Harvey) Hamilton, all of Yarmouth ; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his parents Leonard was predeceased by a sister in infancy. Funeral arrangements have entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Saturday December 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 service at 7:30 P.M. and again on Sunday December 31, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held Monday January 1, 2018 at 2 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Interment will take place in the spring of 2018 in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society of a charity of your choice.
