Obituary for Lennie Mae Nickerson

Lennie Nickerson age 91 of Pinkney’s Point passed away peacefully in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on November 20,2022. Born in Pembroke she was a daughter to the late William and Geneva(Moses) Hazelton. She dedicated her life to us, her children. There were no coffee dates with her girlfriends. No going to the hairstylist. No dressing up and being treated to dinner and a movie. If it didn’t include her children, then it didn’t happen. She worked hard. One cannot imagine the amount of strength and determination she had to give the best care and the best years of her life to her nine children. How she loved us. She would never allow us to ‘sleepover’ at a friend’s house. She always said she knew we were safe when we were under her roof. Its hard to find the words to express the depth of her love for us. She was and always will be, our angel. She is survived by her children, Linda (James); Phillip; Judson (Sandra); Mitchell (Doreen); Rosann (Sterling); Roland (Dawn); Clinton (Lisa); Anthony (Heather); 23 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister Lillian O’Connell. Lennie was predeceased by her daughter, Beverly; son in law, David; 2 grandsons; fiancé Clive Goodwin; siblings, Walter, William, Hughie, Mac, Donald, Murray, Bruce, Violet, Irene, Joyce, and Seretha. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, November 24,2022 at 2 pm from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Craig Minard officiating. Interment to follow in the Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Operation Smile Canada or the Ronald MacDonald House.
Rest in peace Mom. You have surely earned it.
