Kent Patrick Scott age 64 of Carleton passed away unexpectedly on May 22,2023 at home. Born in Yarmouth he was a son to John E. Scott and the late Gloria (Lewis) Scott. Kent began his working career at the age of 12, working at Kenney’s Supplies Ltd. which later transitioned to Home Hardware where he continued his career for over 50 years. He was a true craftsman in everyway, he was continually upgrading his home throughout the years. He enjoyed refurbishing motorcycles in his spare time and traveling on his motorcycle. He is survived by his partner, Diane Simmons; daughter, Christine (Lawrence) Harrington, Melbourne; son, Jason Scott, Carleton; mother of his children, Judy Keizer; step children, Jason Simmons, Arcadia; Jenn Simmons, Greenville; sister, Sandra “Sissy” (Alton Doucette) Murphy, Melbourne; brother in law, George Murphy; grandchildren, MacKenzie (Logan ) White, Chloe, Chelsea and Shelbie Harrington; step granddaughter, Kassady Simmons; great grandson, Denver White; niece, Stephanie Murphy; nephews, Jacob and Nicholas Murphy. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. As per Kent wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
