Ken passed away peacefully with Irish music playing, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, on Thursday, May 13th, 2021, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine (Amirault) Ryan, his children, Christopher Ryan, London Ont., Mike (Kim) Ryan, Yarmouth NS, Kelly (Rick) Atkinson, Wedgeport NS and a sister, Kerry Boudreau, Yarmouth NS. Proud Grandfather to Mallory, Chelsea, Christian, Kirk, Catheryn, Jack, Emma and Danny. Besides his parents, Ken was predeceased by a granddaughter, Megan Atkinson. Ken retired as Chief Steward aboard the Marine Atlantic ferry, the MV Bluenose, after 40 years of service. He was happiest being in the woods hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, being with friends at his hunting camp and drinking coffee with his gang at Tim’s. The family would like to thank, the staff of Villa Saint-Joseph du Lac for the excellent care and kindness shown to Ken, especially the staff of the Milo Villa. As per Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place, with interment at a later date. An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Deepest sympathy to Elaine and back to the family. James and the boys have lots of good memories travelling the 'camp road' back to Rat Lake and meeting Ken either going or coming from his camp. and they enjoyed visiting his camp when they were all together in the back county. They shared lots of stories and laughs and those memories will always be treasured.
