Kathleen Isabel Cox, Deep Brook, Nova Scotia, passed away on May 9, 2018 in Yarmouth Hospital, just days before her 97th birthday .Born in Deep Brook in 1921, she was the only child of Laura (Ditmars) Spurr and William Harding Spurr. She was a graduate of Edgehill and Dalhousie University, enjoying a career in pharmacy which spanned nearly 50 years. Kaye is survived by her son, David, of Toronto, and by her daughter, Joan Stanley (Ross) of Deep Brook. Also mourning her loss are grandsons, Ryan Stanley (Kitty), of West Orange, New Jersey, and Brent Stanley ( Rheanna) of Peterborough, Ontario, and great- grandsons Troy and Nicholas Stanley. She was known as “Ningy” to the younger generations, and will be missed by all. Kaye’s final years in Tideview Terrace were made enjoyable by the care and attention of the wonderful staff. The family’s heartfelt thanks go to her devoted friends, Marilyn Robinson and Bonnie Dugas, for the love and cheer they brought with every visit. Cremation has taken place. There will be a family celebration of Kaye’s long and full life at a later date. No flowers, please. Donations to any charity will be welcome. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth.
