Obituary for Jonathan Shawn Jarvis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jonathan Shawn Jarvis, in Yarmouth NS, on October 20, 2023. Born in Yarmouth he was the son of Loretta Jarvis (Walter Sisco) and the late Steven Hinckley. Jonathan was known as a gentle, loving, and caring soul who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His sense of humour was unrivalled, and he had a contagious laugh to match. During his school years, he was known as a bit of a class clown but went on to be a successful equipment operator and foreman in Alberta before moving back to Nova Scotia in 2017 to be closer to family. Jonathan was a talented poet which he applied to music and rapping. Besides his mother and stepfather, he is survived by his son, Kysen Jarvis, Yarmouth; sisters, Brandy and Jamila Jarvis, Yarmouth; aunts, Laura (Clarke) Paynter, Halifax; Stephanie (Warren) Doucette; uncles, Hubert, Harold, Brian Jarvis, all of Yarmouth; and Donnie (Belinda) Falls, Hamilton Ontario; , several cousins; good friend Tammy; and many other friends near and far. Besides his father he was predeceased by his nan, Lydia (Harold) Jarvis; and paternal grandparents Bruce (Barbara) Hinckley. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel.
