MacNeill, John Wendell Dennis, of Yarmouth, passed away on October 20,2020 with family by his side. Born in Alberton, PEI, he was a son to the late James and Doris (Ryder) MacNeill. Johns qualities were exemplified though fatherhood. Family brought great joy to him and spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter. He was fond of hockey, both American and Canadian teams. Johns inspiring work ethic remained an essential part of his character. He was an avid truck driver by trade, until an accident left him paralyzed from the waist down. However, he did not let his injury prohibit him from attending momentous occasions. John met the love of his life, Annis in Toronto. They were married in 1960 and relocated to Arlington, MA. to raise their children, then returning to Canada. He is survived by his kind hearted wife of 60 years, Annis (Nickerson) MacNeill; daughters, Katherine (Mark) Healey, Marblehead, MA.; Cindy MacNeill, Yarmouth; son, Timothy MacNeill, Milford, MA.; grandchildren, Jonathan; Trevor; Britini (Alex); Kelly; great granddaughter, Haley; brother, Wayne (Sandy), Charlottetown, PEI; sisters, Betty Holmes, Vancouver, BC; Linda Bresee, Red Dear, Alberta; Paula (Chris) Payne, Charlottetown, PEI. He was predeceased by sister Audrey in childhood. John will be missed by all and his memory will forever be cherished. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Funeral Service will be, Monday, October 26,2020 at 2pm, from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating. Interment at a later date in Charlottetown, PEI. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
