Obituary for John "Fraser" Pearce

PEARCE, John "Fraser" - age 66 of Yarmouth, NS, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2020, at home, with his wife at his side. Born in Pictou, NS on March 9, 1953, he was the son of the late Hector Pearce and the late Effie (Roberts) Pearce Smith. Survived by his wife, Brenda (Sands); son, John Muise (Melanie); stepdaughters, Chelsea Pothier Ryan (Tim), and Hayley Pothier Manning (Josh); grandson, Jenson Manning; brothers, Terrance Pearce (Lexine), Corner Brook, NL and James Pearce, Carleton, NS. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Nina (Pearce) Park; brother, Merrill Pearce; and stepfather, Henry Smith. Fraser will be remembered for his positive attitude, strength of body and character, but mostly for his sense of humour. Although he was born in Nova Scotia, he was raised in Corner Brook, NL. Newfoundland was in his blood and he had a constant draw to cross the gulf. He would return to Corner Brook almost every year where he loved to go fishing and visit with his many relatives. He loved cars and was always on the lookout for that perfect bargain. He adored his wife, Brenda, and would do anything to make her happy. He worked hard all his life in construction, most recently as a foreman at Garian Construction. He was liked and admired by his co-workers. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Memorial service will be held Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 2 pm from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel; Rev. A.D Bill Newell officiating. Interment at a later date. Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund. Online condolences may be made to sweenysfh@eastlink.ca or you may sign the guestbook online at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net.
