Obituary for Jessie Maybelle Outhouse

Jessie Maybelle (Smith) Outhouse

Age 100, passed away peacefully at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on September 16, 2022. Jessie was born on Cape Negro on April 28, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Leslie and Edna (Perry) Smith.

After their house on Cape Negro Island was destroyed by lighting, they moved to the mainland to North West Harbour and later she made her way to Darling's Lake Yarmouth County where she worked for a Sea Captain at Churchill's Mansion. She was a member of Port Maitland/Beaver River Baptist Church and a member of Brier Rebecca Lodge. She also belonged to knitting clubs and loved to quilt.

She is survived by her children, Faye (Arnold) Wyman, Pleasant Valley; Llewellyn (Late Beverley) Outhouse, Port Maitland; sister, Freda Lovricic, Barrington Passage; grandchildren, Chris (Rhonda), Steve ( Darlene) Ford, Wendy Ford, Todd (Trina) Roberts, Dwayne (Kelly)Roberts, Jonathan (Shelley)Wyman, Sara (Andrew) Silver; and 12 Great Grand Children and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Guy Edison Outhouse; daughters, Gloria Ford and Shirley Roberts and son in law Kenneth Roberts; brothers, Owen, Arthur, Albert and Philson; sister, Veronica; grandson, Sheldon; and a stillborn son in infancy.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 2 P.M. in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Moses officiating. Interment will follow in Port Maitland/Beaver River Cemetery.
