Obituary for Jean Winnifred Sweeney

Jean Winnifred Sweeney, 82 of Chegoggin passed away peacefully in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on March 1,2024. Born in Yarmouth on January 10,1942, she was a daughter to the late Lawrence and Wanetta (Gallagher) Vickery. Jean liked the simple things in life from sitting in the shade on her patio to playing crib with her son, Tim. She enjoyed Bingo and all card games. She was an Elvis fan and watching her daily games shows, Price is Right and Deal or No Deal. She will dearly missed by her dog and companion, Maisie. She is survived by her husband, Earle; daughter, Kathy (Brian) Holmes, Elliot Lake, Ontario; sons, Tim (Wanda), Lake Echo; Vincent (Sheila), Dartmouth; brother, Ernest (Fran) Vickery, Yarmouth; grandchildren, James, Timothy, Katherine, Matthew, Ashley, Ryan, Cody, Jade, Mary Jean; 13 Great grandchildren. Aside from her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Gilbert, Bob, and Jack Vickery, sisters, Louanne Moulaison, and Annita Miller. The family would like to thank niece, Shelley Vickery who has been a helping hand when the family could not be there, through thick and thin, truly appreciated. Crematorium has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A memorial service will be held Saturday March 9,2024 at 1p.m. from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Keith Moore officiating. Interment at a later date in Chebogue Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to IWK, Chebogue Cemetery or charity of your choice.
