DEVEAU, Jane Victoria-age 88, of Nakile Home for Special Care, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, June 20th, 2022. Born in Yarmouth on May 24th, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Howard Sr and Laura Thompson. Jane worked early in her marriage at the Yarmouth International Airport. Later she was a home maker, as her family was the most important thing to her. She also taught Brownies, Girl Guides, Beavers and Cubs. She was a firm believer that you ate at the supper table. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years in February, Frank Deveau. She was also the last to be reunited with her brothers and sisters (Edna, Ethel, Howard Jr (Sonny) Allen (Ray). She is survived by daughter, Kelly (Angus) Gregory, Glenwood; son, Todd Deveau, Yarmouth, also her 2 grandchildren, who she thought the sun rose and set with, Marcie (Bradley) and Dawson, she was also “Aunt Jane” to many who will miss her dearly. Funeral arrangements have been intrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 25th from 2-4p.m. in the Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place in Chegoggin Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Yarmouth Food Bank or the Yarmouth SPCA.
