Yates James Gordon - It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather on January 11, 2018 at the age of 77 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Middleton Nova Scotia on November 29, 1940 he was the son of Rhoda Yates (Pickett) and the late Gordon Yates. Jim served with first battalion Cdn. Guards for 12 years then followed a career in long distance trucking. Jim took great pride in the military as well as driving his 18 wheeler. Survived by his mother Rhoda, and wife Dianne (Keddy) of Little River Harbour; daughter, Julie Anne Yates ,Brantford ON; son, Brenden Aron (Stephenie) Milton ON; grandchildren, Tyler Horvath, Nicholas Gordon and Matthew James Yates; brothers, Ronald, Robert ,and Danny; and sister, Mary Jane. Predeceased by infant daughter, Katrina Aline. Jim is truly missed by his two fur babies Mimi Girl and Pinball. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth where cremation has taken place at Jim's request. There will be no service at this time. We love you so much Corporal roll on home Driver. Memorial donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the SPCA or charity of your choice.
