Obituary for James "Jim" Raymond Theriault Jr.

THERIAULT James “Jim” Raymond Jr., passed away on July 25, 2022, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Jim was born on March 26, 1963, in Holyoke Massachusetts and was the son of the late James Raymond Theriault Sr., and Kathleen (Trudeau) Theriault. Hard work was instilled in Jim at a young age when he wanted to be a truck driver. He would pursue his goal and eventually move to Nova Scotia while working out of New Brunswick and still travelling back to Nova Scotia on the weekends to be with the love of his life Carrie Rodney. Tiring of the distance he would soon take a job as a Purolator driver in Nova Scotia to permanently be closer to Carrie. While in Nova Scotia Jim worked many jobs but eventually settled into a position with the Department of Highways as a plow driver in the winter and with Gary d’Entremont Excavating in the summer. The simple things kept Jim happy, and he loved animals and his and Carrie’s little farm at the house. Jim also loved to build things and was especially talented at model trains, trucks, or other vehicles. In his spare time, he also enjoyed fishing and listening to music. Above all else, Jim joked that his favourite hobby was Carrie. Jim is survived by his soulmate Carrie Rodney, Arcadia; children, Katelyn Theriault (Jeremy Davies), Chicopee Massachusetts; Rachel Theriault, Chicopee Massachusetts; Andrew Theriault, Georgia; James Raymond Theriault 3rd, Chicopee Massachusetts; Bailey Deveau, Arcadia; siblings, Lisa (Richard) Gelinas, Chicopee Massachusetts; Abbie Valadares, Palmer Massachusetts; Glen Theriault, Chicopee Massachusetts; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of Jim’s life for friends and family will be held Friday, July 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. from Pat Rodney’s house, 86 Kinney Hill Road, Arcadia. Pastor Keith Moore will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net
