Obituary for James "Bob" Robert Bartlett

BARTLETT James “Bob” Robert – age 73 of Acadia First Nation passed away on August 8, 2020, at Nakile Home for Special Care. Born in Digby, N.S.on April 16,1947 he was a son to the late Simon and Lydia (Labrador) Bartlett who was an elite First Nation basket maker. Bob was a carpenter by trade and also was a lobster fisherman. He was an avid outdoorsman who, in his younger years, loved to hunt and fish. Known as a hard worker who was a little rough around the edges, he always took care of his family and was known to be a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Doris Bartlett, Yarmouth; daughter, Nancy (Bernard) Gavel, Wedgeport; sons, Ernie (Angie), Yarmouth; James “Billy” (Laura), Yarmouth; step-siblings, Tom (Jewell), Pat (Louise), Anna, all of Clare; grandchildren, Chayton, Jonah, Tyler, Heather; and many nieces and nephews. As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
