Crosby Irving Alexander – age 77 of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 25, 2018. Born in South Ohio, Yarmouth Co., on July 12, 1940 he was a son to the late Lee and Letha (Hubbard) Crosby. Irving was as self employed mechanic that owned his own shop and did work at Rio Algom Tin Mine. He enjoyed woodworking, playing darts and crib, making things with plastic canvass and he loved to do puzzles. He was also fond of music and playing guitar. He is survived by his daughters Rhoda Deveau ( Troy Messenger), Yarmouth and Joanne Crosby, Ontario; brother, Leroy (Robin) Crosby , B.C. sisters, Sylvia Finley, Yarmouth; Helen Rafuse ( Buddy Wallace), Cedar Lake; Muriel (Mike) Ferguson, Sanford; grandchildren, Jeremy, Brenden, Aislinn; and great grandson Jayson. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Dorothy (Surette) Crosby; brothers, Fred and Jimmy; and a sister, Ida. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday January 30, 2018 at 2 P.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Interment will take place in Hillside Cemetery in the spring. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
