Obituary for Irene Marie Maillet

It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Irene Marie Maillet, aged 85 years passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 14, 2022. Born in Saint Alphonse, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Maillet) Jeddry. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Irene loved to play BINGO and do jigsaw puzzles. CIFA was always playing on her radio. She loved to shop and never got over the loss of her favourite store Zeller’s. She loved to cook and bake for her family, and no one ever left her home hungry. She loved to take her daily walks and enjoyed every minute of spoiling her grandchildren. She leaves behind her husband of 64 years Ira, her 5 children Michael (Simone) Maillet Salmon River, Kenney (Tesa) Maillet Yarmouth, Debra (Yvon) Theriault Little Brook, Donna (Sterling) Mullen Salmon River, Gail Maillet (Kevin) Salmon River; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister Jeanette LeBlanc. Donations may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth. A private gravesite ceremony will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net
She is having “un bon thé” with Mimi in heaven.
