PEARCE, Hector “Merrill” – age 62, of Yarmouth, passed away September 21, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB on February 1, 1956, he was the son of the late Hector Pearce and Effie Smith (Roberts Pearce) and stepson of the late Henry Smith. Merrill could most often be found at his second home, Tim Hortons. He made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed playing cards and handline fishing in his earlier days. He had a passion for food, was a fan of country music and was never in a bad mood. You could most often hear him whistling a tune before you saw him. He is survived by his partner, Dale d’Eon, Yarmouth; brothers, Terry (Lexine), Corner Brook, NL; Jim, Yarmouth; Fraser (Brenda), Yarmouth; many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Nina Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Sunday September 23, 2018 from 7-9 PM in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 1 PM from Holy Trinity Anglican Church with Rev. Helen Chandler officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
