DENNIS (Singfield), Gertrude Fannie – age 87, of Port Maitland, Yarmouth Co., N.S. Passed away on December 25, 2021, at home. Born March 22, 1934, in Darlings Lake, she was a daughter of the late Gabriel and Edith (Spinney) Singfield of Darlings Lake. She was a member of the Port Maitland United Baptist Church, Women's Missionary Society, past president of the Port Maitland Volunteer Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary, Dominion Life Member and assisted in many village activities. She attended Normal College in Truro and taught school to grade 1 in Milton, Yarmouth Co., for five years. In her later years, she was a regular attendee at Yarmouth North Baptist Church with her husband of 65 years, Phillip Dennis. Surviving are her loving husband, Phillip Landers Dennis; daughter, Debra (Larry) Surette; grandsons, Shane (Jade) Dennis and Ian Surette(Alexis). Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Brian and brother, Robert Singfield. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 2 P.M. from Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.D. "Bill" Newell officiating. Interment will follow in Darling's Like Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Port Maitland Baptist Church or the Friends of TNR. Please note that seating is limited, and family will be given priority seating.
