George Earle Moses

George E. Moses, 92, of Veterans’ Place, Yarmouth, formerly of South Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 14, in the presence of his three daughters. Born in North Attleboro Mass., on May 19, 1925 he was the son of the late Earle and Josephine (Moses) Moses. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in Holland and Germany. He is survived by daughters, Elaine (Roy) Saulnier, Dayton; Judy (Gregg) Clements, South Ohio, and Shonda (Tony) Hogan, Round Hill; grandchildren, Dustin (Shirley) Saulnier, Tim and Rosemary (Peter Crosby) Clements, Misty (Craig Wallace) Amirault, Matthew (Alicia ) Moses and Jillian (Wayne Ritchie) Dulong, Justin, Jennifer and Nick Hogan; eight great grandchildren and brother, Wynne Edward (Janet) Moses, Amherst, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Scoville) Moses, in 2015; his son, Joseph Earle Moses, Yarmouth; his sister, Faye Kingsbury Jayne, Digby. He was the proprietor of Superior Meat Market in Yarmouth South for 31 years. He enjoyed gardening, playing Bridge, travelling and cooking. He had a good sense of humor, a mischievous nature and a generous spirit. He was a adherent to South Ohio United Baptist Church and later a member of Bayview Baptist Church in Port Maitland. He has lived at Veterans’ Place for more than three years, where he has received awesome care. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 from 1-2 P.M. with a Royal Canadian Legion Service at 1 P.M. A funeral service commence following visitation at 2 P.M. with Rev. Joyce Trask officiating. Interment will take place in Hillside Cemetery in South Ohio in the spring of 2018. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Hillside Cemetery.
