Allen, Garfield (Gary) Merle, aged 79, passed away November 19th, 2021, in Kentville. He was born in Yarmouth on August 1st ,1942, the son of Merle and Gladys (Morton) Allen. He was a graduate of Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School, received his BBA from UNB, Fredericton, MBA from York University, Toronto, and achieved the accounting designation CGA. After returning to Yarmouth, he had an accounting practice in Hebron for 33 years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Noella (Pothier) Allen; sons, Mark Allen (Jackie) of Windsor; Brad Allen (Kirsta ) , of Yarmouth; grandson, Isaak Allen; granddaughter Kallie Allen; sister, Ruthie Allen Hamilton (Kevin), South Ohio; sister in law, Marie Pothier, Montreal; brother in law, Michael (Madeline ) Pothier; niece, Angela Sollows (Paul Sim) and their daughter Madison of Sackville; Nephews, Marcel Pothier (Jill), Sheet Harbour; Matthew Pothier ( Marlee) , Lantz and their son Colby. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Reigh Allen. A special thank you to VON and Home Care for all their Support. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. No visitation by request and there will be a private family funeral held at St. Ambrose Co Cathedral, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. Interment in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
