Obituary for Freda Lorraine Nickerson

Nickerson, Freda, Yarmouth passed away peacefully at the Meadows Home for Special Care on September 12, 2020. Born September 1, 1932, she was a daughter to the late Edwin and Isabelle (Keating) Vickery. Freda was an excellent cook, starting her working career at the B&G CarHop. She then went on to cook at the Yarmouth Day Care on Parade Street and Maple Grove Education Centre until her retirement. She was an avid quilt maker. She enjoyed camping and, most importantly, spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, George (Shelley) Nickerson; Douglas (Shelly) Nickerson; Wendy (Gary) Stoddard; Gloria (Jim) Leblanc; grandchildren, Tina Nickerson; Stacey d’Entremont; Harold Nickerson; Michael Nickerson; great-grandchildren, Trey; Brandon; Emma; Liam; Landyn; Mallory; great-great-grandchildren, Abby and Haley; sister, Mary Wilkins, Truro. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, George; brothers, Michael; Loarn; Wayne; Jerry; Paul; sister, Millie Cook. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. As per following with the family's wishes, there will be a private family interment at a later date.
