Obituary

Bajurny, Eugene Francis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father Eugene Francis Bajurny, age 73 of Toronto, who passed away April 26, 2019.Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 22, 1945 he was the son of the late Stan and Jean Bajurny. Predeceased by his loving wife Veronica Vilya Bajurny, Eugene is survived by his brother Stanley Bajurny Jr., his nieces Virtue Bajurny and Sarah McColl and his five children Joseph Stanley, Julia Anne, Suzannah Mae, Charles Andrew and Katherine Isabelle. Eugene held a dear place in the hearts of all who knew him. He was kind. He was reasonable. He was fair. He was loyal and caring and always supportive. He treated people well. He was a good man who dedicated his life to his wife and children. Known for his knowledge of history, his appreciation for fine antiques and artwork, music, books and classic cars, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to extend a very special thank-you to all of the doctors and nurses who provided exceptional care to our father at Yarmouth Regional Hospital and before that at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto and at the Renal Clinic in Etobicoke . Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 9 at 11:00 am at St.Louis Catholic Parish Church, 540 St. George St., Annapolis Royal, N.S. with a reception to follow at The Hillsdale House Inn. Eugene was always a great person to work with (Islington House Hotel). I would constantly seek his advice on matters. Eugene was forever, patient, intelligent and a decent person to know. Sincere, condolences to Eugene's family and Stan and family.

Eugene and I attended St. James School at Jane and Bloor in Toronto during the 1950's. I remember him fondly as a kind and considerate classmate and friend. He leaves very pleasant and loving memories for all who knew him. My condolences to Eugene's family and to Stan.

I knew his father and brother very well. Both wonderful people. They attended our wedding. I worked as a part time waiter at the Islington House for years and met him there. God Bless!

Eugene and I met nearly sixty years ago when my family moved to Riverside Drive in Toronto. Eugene and his family lived down the hill from our backyard on Brule Crescent , and he attended De La Salle College School with two of my brothers.
I went to Saint Joseph's High School, in the same class as Veronica She and Eugene met at a party at my house, and it was love at first sight; no one was a bit surprised that they eventually married
Eugene and his pals (George Cobham, Paul Girard, Victor Vasis, and sometimes even Stan) spent a lot of time in and around our house during our high school years. My father loved to tease Eugene about the cars he took pride in restoring; Eugene took the teasing in stride.
I smile when I think of Eugene, and I mourn with you at your loss.
Sincerely,
Barbara (Grant) Davison
