Obituary for Erma Ninetta Harris

Harris, Erma Ninetta (Eldridge), 76 of Norwood, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully surrounded by family, January 9,2019 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in South Ohio, Yarmouth, Co. on December 31,1942. She was a daughter to the late Douglas and Marjorie (Crosby) Eldridge of Norwood. Erma was a hard working, very wonderful, kind, giving, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who loved her family and friends dearly. She loved the Lord and gave herself to him as a very small child in Norwood Baptist Church. Erma married the love of her life Howard at the young age of 17 and had 4 beautiful children by the time she was 21. Besides looking after a home, her husband and children, she also looked after their farm animals and gardens. She also worked as a sales woman in Artex, Tri-chem, Tupperware and other companies as well as housekeeper at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Erma was a member of the Yarmouth Seaside Red Hatters, a member of the Lakewood Club and President of the Norwood Cemetery Association. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Barbara Harris, Norwood; sons, Russell Harris, Norwood; Lloyd (Valerie) Harris, Plymouth; Scott Harris(Pam Muise), Norwood; grandchildren, Christopher(Taralyn), Michael (Shianne), Jessica, John Ryan, William, Emily, Gillian, Shantel, Luke, Natasha, (Robert); great grandchildren, Jacob, Kempton ,Leland and Easton; sister Dorothy (Ron) Vallillee ; brother Douglas (Yvonne); many nieces, nephews and cousins. Beside her parents she was predeceased by her husband Howard Harris; grandson Jairus Berry. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 13,2019 from 7-9 pm in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 14,2019 at 2pm. also in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev A.D. Bill Newell officiating. Burial to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Norwood Cemetery or charity of your choice. Family flowers only.
