Purdy, Emma Ruth, age 85 , Passed away on June 16,2020 in The Meadows Home for Special Care , Born in South Ohio she was the daughter of the late Amos and Ruth (Fletcher) Ryerson. Emma worked at the Cotton mill from 1968 until its closure in 1991. When working at the cotton Mill she enjoyed bowling with the Mill team. She was a strong woman who would stand up for her rights. Emma enjoyed gardening, planting trees and family suppers. Emma is survived by her son Greg (Cary Porter) Purdy, Yarmouth; Daughter in law Cathy Purdy; Sister Amy (Garth) Mood; Grand children Melanie Purdy and Tara (Charles) Muise; Great grandchildren Cindel, Bria and Kain. Besides her parents she was predeceased by husband Robert Purdy; Sons Robert Purdy Jr and Amos Purdy in infancy; Sister Irene Hamilton. A special thank you to niece Carmen Crowell for all you have done for Emma, to the nurses of Roseway Hospital, Villa Acadienne and The Meadows Home for Special care for the care given to Emma. Funeral arrangement have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. As per Emma’s wishes no visitation or Funeral service will take place.
