Obituary for Eldon Curtis White

Eldon Curtis White, age 74 of Richfield passed away on July 19,2022 in Valley Regional Hospital. Born December 12,1947 he was a son to the late Kenneth and Evelyn (Carty) White. Eldon owned and operated Richfield Forestry and was a legendary outdoorsman, in 2011 he was the wood lot owner of the year for the province of Nova Scotia. He was a very simple man who enjoyed working in the woods, hunting and fishing. He was a founding member of Yarmouth Ground Search and Rescue, president of the Forest Glen Cemetery and a retired fire chief for the Richfield Fire Department. Eldon was a helpful man, anyone who wanted to learn, he wanted to teach them. He wanted to make each person the best versions of themselves. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille; son, Burnley (Jennifer Webster), Richfield; daughter, Jennifer (John) Cunningham, Pleasant Valley; grandchildren, Alex Cunningham, Izack and Josh White. Aside from his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Stewart and Elmer White. Visitation will be Friday, July 22, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 23,2022 at 1 p.m. also in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Joey Ring officiating. There will be a reception to follow in the Forest Glen Hall. Interment to take place in the Forest Glen Cemetery Sunday, July 24,2022 at 1 p.m. For those who are unable to attend there will be a live webcast on the Sweeny’s Funeral Home website.
