Condolence From: Nicole Hood
Condolence: Dad:
What can I say that could ever truly show you to the depths of my heart just how much I loved you? Thank you so much for your support, advice and just listening to me. You were always the stable force in my life and it meant so much to me that you were always there to lean on and support me no matter what I was going through. You are a great man with a wonderful heart who only wants to help people. I am so proud to be your daughter. The things you did to show how you cared, the sound of your voice, the wisdom you shared and a piece of advice (or two) I will never forget. You lived your life on your terms and you set so many examples on how to help others in need. The work you put in to do things well, the places you’d been and the stories you’d tell and the great successes in your life that you were proud of. Your hobbies and passions and your laughter. I will see you again and look for you out in the sky with the sun shining down on me to support me through the rest of my life with your strength as you had always done for me while you were here physically. When I think of you dad and everything that made you the man that were are the memories of you lives on through me and these I know are your gifts to me.
Love always and unconditionally, Coke....

Condolence: Bill was the larger than life man living in the larger than life house next door to my parents. His kindness, generosity and friendship knew no bounds. He was a man of honour, intelligence and integrity wrapped in humour, continuous learning and a love of life which he shared freely. We are honoured for having him in our lives, he will remain forever in our hearts.

Condolence: It is with a big sadness that we must relay condolences to Mitch, Nicole, Sue and to all who were close to Bill. We had so many good times as families, friends, as co workers in Port Hardy for the period of 76 to early the 90's. So Sorry!

Condolence: My sincerest condolences to you Su as well as Nicole, Mitch, Ward, Marcelline and Hewey. As well as Kitty and Barb and all your family.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I write this. I am joining you today in remembering Bill ("Dad" as he wanted me to call him). Bill was truly a father to me. He was an inspiration and I knew I could always count on him to be there for me whatever the circumstances.

Even though many years have passed since we last saw each other, I was planning to visit him one of those summers so we could catch up, reminisce and hug each other. I often thought of him (and Su) and hoped you were (are) healthy and happy. When we visited, we would always spend many hours discussing life's moments - from world affairs, to finances, to relationships, to art, to things we liked to do, to places we visited in the world. He was very well-traveled, intelligent, smart, interesting and caring. He cared deeply for the ones he loved and I always felt appreciated to be in his company. The beautiful memories in my heart are endless and always bring me comfort.

Bill was a man's man. He 'straight-up' gave you the truth - always. He did not take fatherhood or friendship lightly. He was there for you at anytime and under any circumstances if you asked.

Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day... unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear. That is what you mean to me Billy Miner... You will be missed.

Dad, I will forever remember you, your kindness and your love!

Condolence: I met first met Bill at GCOS in Fort McMurry in 1967. We worked together for many, many years. He was intelligent, driven, well organized and a strong character that occupies more of my memory bank than most others.

In 1971 Glen Andrews (who was the mill manager at GCOS) took a group of people to Port Hardy to start up the Island Copper Mine. Bill and I were amongst them and we spent 25 years there before the mine closed. We also worked together in Chile and Papau New Guinea.

We sang together and fished together for many years. He was firm but fair and could drink most of us under the table. He had a good life, an exemplary career and I feel fortunate to have had his friendship.

My condolences to Sue and family on the loss of a highly respected man.
