Obituary for Edward William "Bill" Hood

Edward William "Bill" Hood – age 76, of Yarmouth Nova Scotia passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2018. Born in Pembroke, ON April 17, 1941 he was a son to the late Thomas Edward and Elizabeth (Haydu) Hood. Bill’s long career in mining led this adventurer from Edmonton to Fort McMurray, Port Hardy, Chile, Australia, Papua New Guinea and finally to Nova Scotia. Wherever he went his vibrant personality touched many people in the most deep and meaningful way. He loved his family, his boys, his Harley and his dogs. He is survived by his loving wife ,Susan Amy Hood; daughter, Nicole Hood (Chas);son, Mitchell; step-children, Ward Murray, Marcelline Murray/-Morales (Rodrigo), Hew Murray; sisters Kitty Kotch (Rod) , Barbara Fowler; grandchildren, Chloe, Bastian, Elias and Julianna. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A memorial service will be held in Bill’s memory on Tuesday January 16th 2018 at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in remembrance can be made to the SPCA, Yarmouth , Tri-county Women’s Association or the Kidney Foundation.
