Obituary for Edna May Spurr

SPURR, Edna May – age 83 of Yarmouth, N.S. passed away peacefully on June 29,2019 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Lake George Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter to the late Hanford and Anna (Killam) Ellis. Edna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her children. She loved to knit, especially mittens to provide to people to warm their hands. Everyone who knew her loved her and she loved them back. She is survived by her daughters; Debbie (Jim) Childs, Fort Nelson, B.C.; Evelyn Spurr, Yarmouth; Gail (Pat) Newell, Plymouth; Carol (John) Deveau, South Ohio; Anne (George) Muise, Yarmouth; sons, Jim (Julie) Spurr, Yarmouth; Fred Spurr (Amanda LeBlanc), Fort Nelson, B.C.; Jack (Alana) Spurr, Brazil Lake; 18 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Spurr; and sister, Gertrude Croft. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 2,2019 at 10:30 A.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Pitcher officiating. Interment will follow in Yarmouth Mountain and Norwood Cemeteries. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to the Temple Baptist Church.
