Douglas N. Hamilton, 89, Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co. passed away December 15,2022 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., he was a son to the late Harold and Jessie (Tinkham) Hamilton. He was a member of the Yarmouth North Baptist Church. After retiring as office manager from Atlantic Wholesalers Ltd. he started an antique business in Yarmouth, then moving the business to Brooklyn in 1998, which continued until June 2022. Over the years he was involved in the sport of hunting, fishing, baseball (both as a player and umpire), hockey player and referee, badminton and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Peverill) Hamilton; son, Brian (Linda), Georgia, USA; daughter, Beth (Michael) O’Connell, Tusket; grandchildren, Felicia (Shane) Scott; Janna (Steve) Rous; Andrew (Kelsey) Hamilton; Melanie (Jake Allen) Hamilton; great grandchildren, Carman Hamilton; Elodie Rous; Reuben Rous; Coby Allen; Lily-Jean Scott; Isla Hamilton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A funeral Service will take place at a later date and to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to Ambassadors for Christ Canada, Brooklyn Cemetery or the Yarmouth North Baptist Church.
