Obituary for Donald Leslie Roberts

It is with broken hearts that the family announce the sudden death of Donald Leslie Roberts on January 26, 2022 as per one of his favourite songs he is going on up to the spirit in the sky. Born October 17, 1954 in Oshawa Ontario, he was the son of Leslie and the late Barbara Roberts. Don worked for 30 years at PPG Industries, Duplate Division in Oshawa. He was 11 years short of his goal of receiving his pension for as long as he had worked.
Besides his mother Don was predeceased by his step son, Jared LeBlanc Roberts, who he still missed everyday; mother in law, Sara LeBlanc; nephew, Shawn Hugh Thompson, and 3 brother in laws. Don absolutely loved and adored his many nieces and nephews both blood and the ones that were children of his friends.
Besides his father, left to mourn are his wife, Patty LeBlanc Roberts, who was the love of his life for 30 years, he was her staunchest supporter and protector she affectionately called him “The Donald”. Also left are his brother ,Wayne(Rose) Roberts and sisters, Diane(Glen) Liscombe; Karen(Steve) Robinson; sisters in law, Lynn(Mike Muise)Thompson; Kathy(Art)Little and god son, Ashton Corporon.
He will be greatly missed by his beloved dog Izzy, extended family, friends and his coffee tribe. There will be no funeral or visitation as per his wishes.
Don will be remembered for having a genuine interest in those he met, his love of history , being a designated driver, his strong opinions, sarcastic humour, always having a one liner retort, a joke or meme to share with others, to which we add a longtime family joke, Don would say with a grin on his face “A man can die” sadly today our reply is “yup”.
