Doucette, Delphis George.
It is with deepest sadness that Delphis George Doucette, age 80, passed away peacefully at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on September 14,2019. Born on April 23,1939 in Wedgeport he was a son to the late Sylvester and Frances (LeBlanc) Doucette. He was a fisherman for many years and captain to three boats, a carpenter by trade in the summer months. He was a hard worker and would help anyone who needed him. He loved to go hunting with his buddies. He could be seen playing cards with his friend Buzz every week. Buzz was quite a companion, where the two of them were, there was always laughter. Delphis had many many friends, camping friends and neighbors who always said they will miss his contagious smile. Delphis was a kind man, gentle and would talk to anyone. He was a wonderful loving man, loving husband, father and grandfather. His love for his grandchildren was amazing. We will always love you and miss you. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years ,Shirley (Penney) Doucette; son, Sandy (MariJo) Doucette; daughters, Loralee (Jim) Brush; June(Tim) Fiander; grandchildren, Devan, Melissa (Troy), Nicole, Kolten (Courtney), Tyler, Crystal, Jordan (Chelsea) and many foster grandchildren; great grandchildren, Tyrone, Grace, Keesha and Mattea. Bamp we will miss you terribly. Also survived by sister Catherine (Joe) Doucette; brothers, Gerald and Paul. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Alvin, Joe, Victor and Augusta. A special appreciation to his brother Gerald and sister Catherine (Joe) for all the time spent with him in the Hospital. Also, the staff of 3 South for their exceptional care of Delphis. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. The family will be having a celebration of his life at the South Ohio Community Center on Saturday, September 21,2019 at 2 pm. All are welcome. A family interment will take place at the Chebogue Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Chebogue Cemetery or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Delphis is gone from his physical form but remains spiritually in our hearts and awaits the day when our creator delivers his promises. I find this helps me in troubled times.
John 5:28 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice.
Revelation 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Isaiah 65: 21 They will build houses and live in them, And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage.
22 They will not build for someone else to inhabit, Nor will they plant for others to eat. For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, And the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full.
23 They will not toil for nothing, Nor will they bear children for distress, Because they are the offspring made up of those blessed by God, And their descendants with them.
24 Even before they call out, I will answer While they are yet speaking, I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb will feed together, The lion will eat straw just like the bull, And the serpent’s food will be dust. They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain, says God.
God, family and friends help you through this difficult time. Deepest sympathy from Barb & Allan Winters and Family.
