Delbert Laurent Bourque – age 84, of Belleville, Yarmouth Co. NS, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2021. Born on May 18, 1936, he was a son to the late Laurent Bourque and Angelina (Doucet) Blanchard. Delbert was the founder and owner of Delmar Construction Ltd in Yarmouth. Hunting and fishing was a large part of his life, he was a hunting guide and looked forward to the hunting and fishing seasons. Delbert was a guitar player and lead singer in many bands throughout his life. He played music until the age of 82. His most recent band was “Delbert and Friends”. Delbert had many friends during his music career who were incredibly special to him. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Aaron) Millett, Hammonds Plains, son Mark (Charlene) Bourque, Belleville, daughter Corinne (Scott) Hubbard, Tusket. He has 9 grandchildren, Jennie (Andrew) Mitton, Michael (Lisa) Millett, Sara (Daniel) Belliveau, Louise d’Entremont, Jeffrey (Alisha) Bourque, Brandon (Daina) Millett, Amy Bourque, Bailey Hubbard and Hannah Hubbard. Four great-grandchildren, Chloe and Leah Belliveau and Leo and Myla Mitton; siblings, Kenneth (Karen) Blanchard; Lorraine (Hector) LeBlanc. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lily (Pothier) Bourque, brothers, Gerald Bourque, Bernard Bourque, and Melvin Blanchard and sister Norma Hubbard. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. An invite only family funeral service will be held Thursday May 6,2021 at 11 A.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating.
