Obituary for Cora Minnie Wallis
With sadness we announce the passing of Cora Minnie Wallis (nee Dove), 1949-10-01 - 2023-03-25 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Born in Twillingate, NL she leaves behind her husband, Lloyd Preston Wallis (Retired S/Sgt of the RCMP) and 52 years marriage; son ,Kenneth Lloyd Wallis (Tammy, grandson Adam, granddaughter Amy) and daughter, Krista Lynn England (Kurt, grand daughter Anna and step grand son Kolton).
Cora was predeceased by her parents, Chester and Winnifred Dove (half brother Hardy) of Twillingate, NL. Also to mourn are many friends and family from various parts of NL and NS.
A friend to everyone ,she loved her grandchildren, travel, Christmas, home decorating, cherished her flowers inside and out and was often seen with a cup of tea in hand.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at Bethel Cemetery, Scottsburn, NS later this year with family, as per her wishes.
In lieu of donations Cora’s wishes were to have each person plant a flower of their choice in their own gardens as a reminder to those fighting Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
