Charles “Carl” Joseph Comeau- age 87, of North Chegoggin, Yarmouth Co., N.S., passed away on May 29, 2021, with his family by his side. Born in Yarmouth on October 20, 1933, he was a son of the late Edmond and Irene (Comeau) Landry. Carl was a fisherman and farmer who wasn’t a stranger to hard work. He was always happy and could put smile on the faces of others. Carl loved music and playing his guitars. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching old western movies and listening to country music, especially George Jones and Hank Snow. Carl is survived by his common-law partner of 9 years, Grace Dunbar; daughters, Ann Comeau, Marlene Doucette, Gail Comeau, Michelle Strayer; sons; Mark, Marvin, David, Kevin, Mike, Chris, Kenneth; brothers, Raymond and Billy; sisters, Thelma Billby, Vicky Egan, Sue Dalton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Comeau; brothers, David, Sonny, and Eddie; sisters, Helen Muise, Shirley Taylor, and Mary pool; and grandson. Shawn Comeau. Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. As per Carl’s wishes, he will be interred in Our lady of Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
