Obituary for Catherine Joyce Mulley

Catherine Joyce Mulley
It is with profound sadness that the Family of Catherine Joyce Mulley announce her passing on June 4, 2021 at Nakile Home for Special Care in Argyle. NS. after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Born on July 3, 1936, in North Sydney, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late George and Jane (Dicks) Bungay.

Joyce's greatest love was her family. Her life was devoted to her five children of whom she was so very proud. She enjoyed many wonderful summers at our family's summer home in Middle River and tending to her beautiful flowers at her beloved home in Sydney Mines. For Mom, nothing could beat a good shopping trip to Bangor, Maine with one or all of her girls. Having her children live across the country and in the US, mom looked forward to the times when everyone could be together. She made sure that a beautiful meal was on the table and that it was enjoyed by those she valued most. Times spent together with her as a family are memories that we will hold in our hearts forever.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Ian) Cunningham, Joanne Mulley, Sherry (Eddie) MacDonald; sons, John (Janine) Mulley and Troy (Leanne) Mulley, and brother Reginald (Maggie). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Melissa Mulley (Rick), Griffin Mulley, Kiana MacDonald (Kyle), Joy Cunningham (Makyle), and Ty Mulley. Joyce is also survived by her three great-grandchildren; Dean Mulley, Chanel Kretschmann, and Atlas Kreschmann.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Wesley Mulley; sisters, Susan Pero, Vera Riggs, Sadie Roland, Cavell Bungay; brothers, Creighton, Murray, William, Clyde and Leo Bungay. Joyce was also predeceased by her loving grandson, Connor Wesley Mulley. Our family would like to extend a sincere thank you to friends and family for their love and support over the years. A heartfelt thanks is extended to the extraordinary staff of Nakile Home for Special Care for the years of kindness, love, and respect shown to our mother throughout the most difficult years of her illness.

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Joyce's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia, or to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be sent to sweenys@sweenysfuneralhome.net, or you may sign the guestbook online at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net.
