Obituary for Carl Loran Sweeney

Carl Loran Sweeney age 77 of North Cheggogin passed away peacefully with family by his side April 17,2023 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth he was a son to the late Loran and Pearl (McGray) Sweeney. Carl worked side by side with his father, Loran on their dairy farm, Session Hill Farm where he gladly shared chores with his many childhood friends who were only too happy to help. He enjoyed his garden and greenhouse, peddling the produce as far away as Annapolis Valley. He loved his hounds and the many trips hunting with his buddy Greg. Later in life he enjoyed curling and sharing many years of 4H projects with his children and judging produce at the Western Nova Scotia Exhibition. Recently Carl and his wife Donna enjoyed attending kitchen parties at the Pembroke and Greenville halls and evening drives chasing the beautiful sunsets from atop of Reggies Hill and watching for deer. Carl loved his family deeply and spending time with them was the highlight of his life. Especially taking his grandsons for rides on the tractor. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Andrews) Sweeney; children, Aaron (Melanie) Sweeney; Diana (Jeremy) McLean; Heather Sweeney(Gordon Mitchell); Angela (John) Habkirk; sisters, Lorna (Ian) Smith and Elizabeth (Mike) Raynard; Grandchildren, Jacob, Logan, Tyler, Nathaniel, Michael, Larry, Jonathan, Katie, Dylan and Brandon; great grandchildren, Ezra and Cage; Many nephews, nieces, aunts , uncles and friends.
