Obituary for Bruce Wayne Winship

Bruce Wayne Winship, 68, passed away peacefully at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on July 24, 2020 with his beloved companion, Carolyn “Kay” Wilson, by his side. Bruce was a career mechanic working on tractor-trailers and other heavy vehicles. He enjoyed stock-car races, fishing, dancing, and playing Scrabble and cards with family and friends. Though he had no children of his own, he enjoyed the company of nieces and nephews and Kay’s children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Charles Winship of South Ohio, Yarmouth County, and sisters, Diane MacLeod, Marilyn Coyle, and Marlene Peterson. He is survived by brothers, Charles and Glen, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donations in memory may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund, or the Tri-County V.O.N. Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A special thanks to the oncology team at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Tri-County V.O.N and the Palliative Care Team.
