Obituary for Bruce Eugene Roberts
Bruce Eugene Roberts, 68 of South Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 12, 2023. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son to the late Garth and Betty (Pinch) Roberts.
Bruce was a heavy equipment operator during most of his working years. He worked along side his father at Yarmouth Excavators. He had a few jobs before he retired from the Department of Transportation.
Most of Bruce’s friends and family will remember his sense of humour and his large collection of one-liners, good and bad. He enjoyed joking and making fun, mostly of himself.
In his earlier years, Bruce had many hobbies; tug-of-war, bowling, darts and truck rallies with the Clare Froggers. Most recently he enjoyed more calm activities; playing pool, deer hunting, antique cars and various car shows. His camp in East Kemptville, where many family and good friends helped to build, holds dear memories for all.
He is survived by his wife Paulette; daughter, Tina (Troy Doucet); grandchildren, Brandon, Arielle, Brady; sisters, Debbie, and Linda (Sandy Jackson). Bruce was fortunate to have many aunts, uncles, cousins and a large extended in-law family.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by son, Jessie. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws have preceded him in death.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of Bruce’s life will be Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 6:30-8:30 pm at the South Ohio Community Center. Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
