ANTHONY, Arthur "Blaine" - age 68, of Dayton, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Yarmouth on February 23, 1952, he was a son of the late Robert “Bob” and Emily Anthony. Blaine was best known for being an owner and operator of Dayton Fruit and Vegetable Stand for over 48 years. Blaine grew up in Chebogue working on the family farm and building the H. V. Anthony greenhouses with his family. As the business grew, Blaine made plant deliveries all across the province. He was a member of the Central Chebogue United Baptist Church, 4-H, and the Boy Scouts. At various times, Blaine worked for Cook’s Dairy, on the Prince of Fundy as a cook, and for Marine Colloids. Whatever Blaine’s job, he did it wholeheartedly and he will be greatly missed not only by his family, but by his co-workers, suppliers, and customers. Blaine was generous, community-minded, and incredibly passionate about the Special Olympics and the local food bank. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Stella (Murphy); son, Jeff Anthony; sister, Sharon Anthony; and brother, Leland Anthony. Blaine is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Ryan and brother, Wendel.

A celebration of Blaine's life is tentatively set for Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 2 P.M. from the Yarmouth Wesleyan Church with Rev. A.D "Bill" Newell and Rev. David Hockley officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, priority seating will be given to family and co-workers. The service will be Livestreamed on Sweeny's Funeral Home Facebook page. Family flowers only.
