Bernice Stella Van Amburg
With deep sadness, we announce that Bernice Van Amburg (Laskie) of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2022, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital at the age of 82. Bernice is survived by her sons Kevin (Jan Boyd) Van Amburg (Hamilton, Ontario) and Mark (Jackie) Van Amburg (Halifax); grandsons Ben and Matthew Van Amburg (Halifax), grand-daughter Tanya (Brad) Barrett and great-grandchildren Breanna and Landen Barrett (all of Porters Lake) as well as her dear sister and best friend Heather Nickerson (Yarmouth); special niece Ashely Peto; and several nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by son Brian Van Amburg, her life partner Nick Gallant, sisters Marilyn Rodgerson and Vera Cottreau (both of Yarmouth), parents Myrtle and Arnold Laskie (Yarmouth) and a brother who died in infancy. A kind and caring person, Bernice had a warm and humble personality and loved spending time with family especially her grandchildren. Bernice’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Yarmouth Regional Hospital for the wonderful and attentive care she received from them. Donations in her memory may be made to The Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
