Obituary for Barbara Hattie Irene Julien

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Hatti Irene Julien (Trask) on November 8th 2022. Born Feb 11, 1944, in Pictou Nova Scotia. Daughter of the late Lawrence Lloyd Trask and Barbara Elizabeth (Hicks). Predeceased by friend and husband, Thomas Joseph Julien; half-brother, Gilbert Crosby Trask; nephew, Gilbert Trask Jr. (Little Gil). Barbara is survived by sister, Sandra Trask; brother, Lawrence “Larry” (Jill) Trask as well as several nieces and nephews; daughter, Carrie-Lynn Ackles (Tom); grandchildren, Chantel Iris Lawson (J.R) and Devon Julien Ackles. Mom started her career working first at the Yarmouth Royal Store, then moved on to spend almost a dozen years at the Bank of Nova Scotia. She then spent over 24 years as an admin assistant at Maple Grove School where she also taught typing classes. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her parents as well as camping with family. Special thanks go to Milo staff at the Villa Saint Joseph du-lac and Dr. Chandler for her empathy and warm ways (and all her flowers). Also to Mom’s special friends Pete, Mary , Dave and Ann as well.
Dementia no longer has her in its grip. Peace at long last.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A Celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022, at 1 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held in Jacob’s Loft Event Center above Sweeny’s Funeral Home. The interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Hebron.
