Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur Keith Johnson announces his passing on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the age of 77 years in Deerfield, NS. Arthur will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Beth and his children, Sharon (Eric), Angela, and Jennifer (Mark). Arthur will also be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Samuel, Luc, and Emeila, brother in law, Ken Dennis and his many friends.
Arthur was a hard-working man servicing his community as Past President and Life Member of the Yarmouth Kinsmen Club and business owner of Pleasant Supplies for many years.
Arthur will be forever remembered by his quick wit, passion for Boston Red Sox, love for his dog Kasey, and enjoyment of travel. Arthur spent many summers with family and friends watching his favorite baseball team in Boston and winters enjoying the sunshine in Maui. He had an appreciation for nature and loved spending time at his camp relaxing and reading.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Lisa Gillis, Robin Surette (RN), the whole Yarmouth Palliative Care Team, VON Tri-County, and Dr. Karma Murphy for their compassionate care. Sweeny’s Funeral Home will be providing arrangements and cremation and per Arthur’s request, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will take place at a future date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Gilles Boudreau & Friends Cancer Help Fund. Online condolences can be sent to sweenysfh@eastlink.ca or you may sign the guest book online at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net

Dear Beth & family, so very sorry to hear about Art’s passing. I have so many fond memories of Art and the Kinsman club. Every time I would see Art he would always ask how my business was doing and always made a point of saying how proud he was of me and my success. That always meant a lot to me especially coming from Art. My deepest condolences to you and the girls. Randy Comeau

Dear Beth, it was very hard to hear of Art’s passing.
I got to know art back in the late 70s through both the Kingsman Club and Pleasant Supplies.
He was a great person and so very well respected.
My sincere condolences to you and his family

My sincere condolences to all the Family
I knew Art for many years as a supplier to Pleasant Supplies and as a friend , Art accompanied me on a trip to our salmon fishing camp in the Northern Peninsula of NL [Lafarge Gypsum] many good laughs , a bit of rum and a "few " card games .
Art was always a great person to work with , trusting and a man of his word , always enjoyed any time I spent with Art .
Beth , you and the Family take comfort in knowing Art was a highly respected individual in our building supply industry and will be missed by many

Beth and family
Art was a longtime friend from the building supply industry. We would meet frequently at industry meetings, trade shows, and always on the third Thursday of January at Art's camp - regardless of weather. Sometimes only three, but often eight or ten, but Art always made it amusing and entertaining. Art was always joking and lighthearted, but he was deeply attached to Beth and the girls, and it showed. I know that you will miss him, and so will I.
Stay strong.
