Obituary for Ann Marie Pennell
July 22, 1947 - July 4, 2020
Ann Marie Pennell, 72, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Benteau) Mcgrath, passed peacefully away at her daughter’s home surrounded by family, July 4, 2020. Ann lived in Trepassey, Newfoundland for most of her life. She was always up for a bit of fun and her antics were sure to make you laugh. She enjoyed a game of darts and a game of cards with her Card Sharks. She was involved in the parish concerts, Lions Club and the 50+ Club. Ann and her husband, Joe, moved to Yarmouth, NS in August 2019 to be nearer family. Ann is predeceased by her brothers, Patrick, Hubert and Adrian; sisters; Monica, Mary, Beatrice and Alice. She is survived by brothers, Leslie and Thomas. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joe; her daughter, Colleen (Dale); grandson ,Christopher (Danielle); great granddaughter ,Eva, who was the apple of her eye; brother-in-law, Jim Pennell (Mary); brother-in-law ,Gus Stamp and sister-in-law, Mary Mcgrath. A special thank you to the staff at 4 East in the Yarmouth Hospital, Dr Hynes, Dr Gillis, VON nurses Emma, Brian and Dave and the CCAs, who took care of Ann. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Cathedral, Yarmouth on Wednesday, July 8,2020 at 11:00 am. Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in her honour may be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
