Obituary for Allan I. Savory Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allan I. Savory on March 15, 2023, at Nakile Home for Special Care. Allan was born in Fortune Bay NFLD on March 5, 1939, and was a son to the late Isaac and Elizabeth Savory. Allan was a lifelong fisherman who was a family man through and through. Although he was a quiet man, he had a heart of gold and enjoyed music and dancing. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and making bait bags.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie A. (Doucette); daughters, Elizabeth (Basil) Snook; Crystal Lohnes; sons, Allan I. Savory Jr; Paul (Krista) Savory; stepchildren, Wayne Smith, David Doucette, Helen Genereux, Steven Young; and ten grandchildren Nikki; Sheena; Whitney; Donavan; Morganne; Colby; Hailey; Dijay; Sebastian and Myelle and eleven great-grandchildren Kohen; Ryleigh; Ledger; Paislee; Aubree; Isaac; Austin; Adaline; Ethan; Rosalie; Warner.
Besides his parents Allan was predeceased by his son, Allan; brothers; Jerry; Levi; Manuel; and a sister Anne; and first wife Agnes.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 2-4 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Lunenberg at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke or Nakile Home for Special Care or charity of your choice.
