Obituary for Alice Elizabeth Nelson

Alice Elizabeth Nelson (Foulis) died on November 23, 2022 at Villa Saint Joseph du Lac in Dayton. She was born April 3, 1937 in Yarmouth, second daughter of James and Deborah (Smith) Foulis.

Alice was a skilled secretary, having worked at the Cotton Mill (Cosmos Imperial and Domtex) and later for the NS Department of Community Services.

Besides her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Nelson, her son James (Jim) Nelson, her sister Anne Corning, and brother-in-law, Jack Corning.

She is survived by her daughter Kathryn (Kathy) Saulnier, son-in-law Randy Saulnier, and daughter-in-law Ann Nelson, all of Yarmouth. Alice is also survived by grandchildren Daniel Saulnier, Halifax, Katie Saulnier (Andrea), Montreal, Robert Nelson (Candice), Yarmouth, and Hannah Saulnier, Sackville NB. Also left behind is great grandson, Oliver (Ollie) Nelson and several nieces and nephews from the Corning family.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeney’s funeral home in Yarmouth. There will be no visitation or funeral. Private internment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Chebogue Cemetery (Town Point), or charity of choice.

The family of Alice Nelson wishes to thank Yarmouth Heights and Villa Saint Joseph for the care extended to Alice over the last several months. Special thanks to Villa Saint Joseph for the compassionate palliative care provided.
